Compress a Video Without Uploading It

Most online video compressors make you upload the whole video first, which on mobile data can take longer than the compression itself and uses up your data pack. This one makes the smaller video inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. The video is never sent anywhere.

How to Reduce Video Size to an Exact MB Limit

  1. Add the video: straight from your gallery, camera roll or downloads. iPhone (HEVC, HDR), Android, WhatsApp and screen-recording videos all work.
  2. Pick your limit: the size the email, form or app allows, for example 25 MB for a Gmail attachment or 10 MB for an upload form. Each button shows how sharp the video will look at that size.
  3. Download or share: the result is checked byte by byte, so it is under your limit. Watch the preview, then save it or share it.

Same Resolution; High, Medium or Low Quality

  • Resolution stays the same: a 1080p video stays 1080p, a 4K video stays 4K. On High the tool spends the whole size budget on quality instead of shrinking the picture; only if a limit is impossible even at the lowest quality is the picture made smaller, and the result says so.
  • Three quality levels: High (sharpest), Medium (smaller) and Low (smallest). The picker shows the size each makes for your video before you start. See compress video without losing quality.
  • Strict limits: "25 MB" means at most 25,000,000 bytes, the stricter way of counting, so the file passes on sites that count 1 MB as 1,000,000 bytes and on those that count 1,048,576.
  • Tight limits look soft: squeezing a long video into a few MB makes it blurry. The size buttons tell you before you start, and the preview lets you check before you send.
  • Sound is kept: AAC sound from phones is copied untouched; other sound is converted so it plays everywhere.

iPhone Videos (HEVC and HDR)

iPhones record in HEVC and HDR by default. Many Windows PCs and Android phones play those badly, and HDR often looks grey after other converters. The output here is a standard MP4 (H.264) with normal colours, so it plays on every phone, computer and app.

Free, No Watermark, No Sign-up

  • No watermark, no account and no daily limit.
  • Works offline after you have used the tool once.
  • Keep the tab open while it works. On phones, switching to another app can pause it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. The video is compressed inside your browser on your own phone or computer and is never sent to a server. That also means no upload wait and no mobile data spent on sending it.

Will the video lose quality?

Some, because a smaller file holds less detail. The resolution stays the same. On High the tool uses the whole size limit for quality; Medium and Low make a smaller file on purpose. Each size button shows how sharp the result will look (Sharp, Good, Soft or Blurry) before you start, and the limit is never exceeded.

How do I compress a video to 10 MB or 25 MB?

Add the video, tap 10 MB or 25 MB (or type any limit), and download the result. The finished file is checked so it is at most 10,000,000 or 25,000,000 bytes.

Does it work with iPhone videos?

Yes. iPhone HEVC and HDR videos are converted to a standard MP4 with normal colours that plays on Android, Windows and in every app. On a PC that can't open HEVC itself, a slower method is used automatically.

Which formats can I compress?

MP4, MOV, M4V, 3GP, WebM and MKV. The result is always an MP4 (H.264 video, AAC sound). Some camera and editing formats such as ProRes, AVI or MTS can't be opened in a browser yet; the tool tells you when that happens.

Why does it ask me to keep the tab open?

The video is made by your own device, in this tab. If you switch apps or lock the phone, the browser may pause the tab. Keep it open until the download button appears.

Is there a file size limit or a watermark?

No watermark and no fixed size limit. Large and long videos take longer, especially on phones.
