The Limits (Official, October 2026)
- Gmail (personal accounts): 25 MB of attachments. Anything bigger is turned into a Google Drive link automatically (Gmail Help, "Attachment size limit").
- Outlook.com: 25 MB for the whole email, text and attachments together. OneDrive links can be up to 2 GB (Microsoft Support, "Unable to attach files in Outlook.com").
- Work or college email: set by your administrator, and often smaller.
A Drive link works, but the recipient has to open Drive, and some offices block it. An attachment just plays.
How to Get the Video Under 25 MB
- Open Compress video for email. It runs in your browser; the video is never uploaded.
- Choose the video. iPhone (HEVC, HDR), Android, WhatsApp and screen recordings all work.
- Tap Compress to 24 MB. 24 MB rather than 25 leaves room for the email text, because Outlook counts the whole message.
- Download it, or on a phone tap Share → Gmail.
The tool keeps the video's resolution and uses the whole 24 MB for quality. The size buttons tell you before you start whether it will look sharp, good or soft at that size.
How Long a Video Fits in 24 MB?
At good quality, roughly a minute of 1080p or a little over two minutes of 720p, with sound. Longer videos still fit, but look softer. If yours is long, the honest options are: accept a softer video, send a Drive/OneDrive link, or cut it in your gallery app first.
What About Office Email?
If your work email bounces the message, ask IT for the limit and type it into the tool's Other limit box (for example 10 MB).
