How to Convert DOCX to PDF
- Add the Word file: choose a .docx (up to 50 MB) made in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, WPS Office or LibreOffice.
- Wait a few seconds: the pages are laid out and the PDF is written inside your browser.
- Download: check the preview of the first page, then download the PDF. The result screen lists anything worth checking.
Your Document Never Leaves Your Device
- No upload: the document is converted inside your browser tab and is never sent to a server. That matters for résumés, offer letters, applications and anything with personal details.
- Free, no sign-up, no daily limit.
- Works offline after you have used the tool once.
What the PDF Keeps
- Text you can select and search, not a picture of the page, with bold, italic, underline, colours and highlights.
- Working links (web addresses and email links) in your résumé or letter.
- Tables, pictures, bulleted and numbered lists, headers and footers, with page numbers filled in on every page.
- Page breaks: when the file was last saved in Microsoft Word, the PDF breaks pages where Word did. Otherwise pages are worked out here and can differ a little.
Fonts
Calibri, Cambria, Arial, Times New Roman and Courier New are replaced with free fonts that have exactly the same letter widths (Carlito, Caladea, Arimo, Tinos and Cousine), so lines break in the same places as in Word. Other fonts are replaced with the closest of these, and the result screen tells you which. The fonts are embedded in the PDF, so it looks the same on every phone and computer.
What Doesn't Convert
- Old .doc files (Word 97–2003): open them in Word, Google Docs or WPS Office, save as .docx, then convert.
- Charts, SmartArt and older drawings (EMF/WMF pictures) may be missing; the result screen counts missing pictures.
- Comments and tracked changes are not shown.
Microsoft Word, Google Docs and WPS Office can also save a PDF themselves (File → Save as / Download → PDF), and they handle every feature of their own files. This tool is for when you only have the file, not the app, or don't want to upload it anywhere. Need the PDF under a portal's size limit? Compress the PDF next.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it safe to convert a Word file to PDF here?
Yes. The document is converted inside your browser and is never uploaded or saved. After the tool has been used once, it also works offline.
Will the PDF look the same as in Word?
Very close for letters, résumés, reports and forms: text, tables, pictures, lists, headers, footers and page numbers are kept, with fonts that match Word's letter widths. Page breaks can differ slightly when the file wasn't last saved in Microsoft Word. Check the preview before you send it.
Can I select and copy text in the PDF?
Yes. The PDF has real text (not an image of each page), so you can select, copy and search it, and links stay clickable.
Can I convert an old .doc file?
Not directly. Open the .doc in Word, Google Docs or WPS Office, save it as .docx, and convert that.
Is there a size or daily limit?
Files up to 50 MB, with no daily limit. Very long documents need enough free memory on your device.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, in Chrome, Safari and other current browsers on Android and iPhone. Pick the .docx from Files, WhatsApp downloads or Google Drive.
